Vickery Holman worked with the school to obtain the required performance brief and then sought tenders from roofing contractors for the purposes of submitting information to the Department of Education, Funding and Skills to obtain funding.

Part of the exercise entailed determining how much insulation was already on the existing roof via core sampling and then calculating the amount of additional insulation required to meet current Building Regulations standards.

Post Grenfell Tower, people responsible for buildings were necessarily highly focused on the fire retardance of new installations and Vickery Holman looked into this in depth to provide the client with the necessary information to enable governors to sign-off works for approval.

The bid was ultimately successful and the work was undertaken over the school summer holidays, with scaffolding edge protection installed in the last week of term to enable swift commencement.

Vickery Holman worked collaboratively with Moy Materials and Stormforce Roofing on the project which was delivered on time and on budget with Vickery Holman and the school working in partnership.
