Life of a Graduate Surveyor

My day to day work currently consists of working within the Lease Advisory and Rating team. Within the Lease Advisory team, I undertake lease renewals and rent reviews for both Landlords and Tenants, working with our property management clients and local, regional and national investment clients. Within the Rating team, I undertake checks and challenges on occupier’s business rates assessments to help reduce their rates liability.

As part of my structured training programme, I will be working with my Valuation colleagues from September 2022 for 6 months. This will allow me to further expand my knowledge and gain experience in this core competency. I hope to sit my APC in Autumn 2023.

Aside from my daily workload, VH has been fantastic in providing additional opportunities to develop our knowledge through training days and regular CPD. Also, we have structured APC meetings with my supervisor and counsellor to discuss my progress through the APC.

VH is a very sociable company with regular events organised. Also, there is numerous networking events in the local area ranging from breakfasts to sports events and drinks at the pub.
