I joined Vickery Holman towards the end of 2022 and have been working for just over 6 months, starting out in the Plymouth office and now based in the Exeter office.
As part of the building surveying team, I have been exposed to a wide range of work across Devon and Cornwall including project management, party wall and professional surveys. So far, I have mainly been assisting senior members of the building surveying team but have also taken a lead role on several smaller projects. Being given this extra level of responsibility has helped me improve as a surveyor as well as enhancing my knowledge of professional practice within the industry. One of the great parts of the job is that no two days are the same and the workload is incredibly varied. You also have the opportunity to visit many different types of buildings and work with other professionals across a variety of industries and are constantly learning.
I am currently working towards chartership and preparing for the APC. I am very grateful to the team at Vickery Holman for offering their help and guidance throughout this process as it really makes a difference to have such supportive colleagues.
