I am now coming up to my 5th year at Vickery Holman. After achieving a degree in History at university and, not wanting to be a teacher, I arrived at Vickery Holman as an assistant with nothing more than an interest in property. 5 years down the line Vickery Holman have supported me through a master’s course and now into my APC.
As a graduate Vickery Holman give you a sense of freedom, allowing you to take control of your own work and clients. However, if required, a more experienced colleague is never far away and are always happy to offer you their knowledge and advice.
In the building surveying team, we cover a range of services that include Contract Administration, Dilapidations, Party Wall, Surveys etc. A general day could see me visit several building sites to meet with contractors and inspect works. Along with this I spend a lot of my time carrying out measured surveys to produce land registry plans or the like for the professional industry.
Outside of work we are encouraged to attend networking events where possible, these can range from formal dinners to sporting events. It is one of the benefits of working at Vickery Holman that they care about your personal development just as much as your professional development.
