Project Management

Vickery Holman work closely with clients throughout the whole development process, from initial concept design and specification to managing the contract through to completion.

Project Management services our process

The building surveying team, located across our four offices in the south west, undertake due diligence project monitoring for funders on a range of new build and refurbishment projects ranging from fruit processing facilities, large scale housing developments, prestige single dwelling and conversion and refurbishment of listed buildings.

The initial reporting exercise reviews all construction related aspects of the proposed scheme including planning consent, technical reports, build cost information & programme, the professional team, procurement method and the form of contract and proposals for collateral warranties.

The resulting Risk Schedule provides a quick reference status report for the principal project elements and is updated as the project progresses and further detailed information becomes available.

Interim reports are provided on a monthly basis following site meetings with the project team and inspection of works.

Development Consultancy Project Manangement - Vickery Holman

Architectural Design

Vickery Holman work with clients to bring their building concept designs to life using AutoCAD drawings and specifications, which can be passed to the builder or which we can project manage in-house to suit the client’s requirements. We work with structural, mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure designs are buildable, sustainable and visually appealing.

Project Management

Vickery Holman undertake the project management of schemes, providing services tailored to suit the client’s requirements. This can be provision of a full in-house service, whereby Vickery Holman will employ and be responsible for sub-consultants, such as mechanical, electrical and structural engineers. Alternatively, we can undertake the design and project management in liaison with client directly employed consultant engineers, or the client’s in-house engineers.

Vickery Holman can also undertake pure project management: providing project management as a stand-alone service with no other design involvement. We would provide the professional advice and management of the design team on behalf of the client.

Cost Consultancy

Vickery Holman can assess proposed schemes, from small extensions and refurbishments to large multi-building developments, to provide budget costs that aid feasibility studies and design processes.

Contract Administration

In addition to writing specifications and producing drawings, Vickery Holman can tender projects to contractors and let the contract on behalf of a client. We then administrate the project as an independent party to monitor progress, quality and expenditure and ensure both con-tractor and client adhere to the requirements of the building contract. We are familiar with both the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) and NEC suite of building contracts.

Project Monitoring

Vickery Holman provides inspection services and reports for funding institutions on the progress, cost and implications of schemes being developed by the banks’ customers. We have advised on a range of schemes, among them housing estate developments; multi-occupancy tower blocks; and newbuild schemes in addition to a marina development. The build cost of such schemes ranges from £500,000 to £16m.

Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015

The CDM Regulations 2015 apply to all projects. On projects meeting certain criteria, the role of the Principal Designer is required, which is usually undertaken by the company or professional specifying the works.

Vickery Holman provides this role as an integral part of the project requirements.

On projects where Vickery Holman have no design or project management involvement, the separate role of CDM Advisor can be provided to assist the Client and the Principal Designer in meeting their statutory obligations.
