Rising Spring Activity for Leisure

An early Spring for the leisure sector as Vickery Holman reports a number of recent site sales

Our leisure department has been busy and despite continuing pressures in the sector, there is still plenty of activity to report as deals are done and new owners make plans for the warmer (and dryer) months ahead. These include freehold pub sales of The Ship Inn, Portloe on the Roseland peninsular, Cornwall – a closed site that has been bought by the local  community in order to preserve its long term future. Inland Cornwall to the Blue Anchor at Fraddon, which was sold with a trading tenant in situ and a new owner with plans to further develop the site for holiday accommodation. In recent weeks there has been the completion in Devon of Watermouth Lodge Park near Combe Martin, which comprised 43 lodges, on site facilities and a managers house – currently closed but the new owners will be looking to open as soon as possible. Finally, in the hotel sector we have completed a sale for the Kerenza Hotel, Bude, which sold for in excess of its guide price. As we look ahead there are a number of deals with solicitors, all with motivated parties looking to complete matters by Easter. Still a sector to watch.
