New owners plan to relaunch under a new name after refurbishment
Overview
The Windwhistle Inn at Cricket St Thomas, nr Chard has been sold and will be renamed The Country Inn after a period of investment. A substantial freehold venue with function room, restaurants and bars, the pub sits in grounds in excess of 4 acres and the new owners have long term plans.
Our Involvement
Vickery Holman acted for St Austell Brewery, who purchased the site in 2012, and have run under tenancies during their ownership.
Buyer plans and refurbishment
The new owners already have considerable experience in the leisure trade having owned and run the nearby Cricket St Thomas golf club nearby. They plan to recreate a family focussed venue with a focus on good food and service. Their immediate plans are to refurbish the external areas to take most advantage of it’s roadside position, relocate the children’s play area closer to the itself and refresh the customer areas.
