Our client, the occupier of a complex of workshops and studios in Falmouth, asked us for assistance in mitigating their business rates liability during redevelopment of their site.
We carried out two site inspections at pertinent intervals during the programme of works and submitted a detailed ‘Check’ to the Valuation Office Agency against fifteen separate assessments, to have various studios and workshops removed from the 2017 and 2013 Rating Lists.
The outcome was the removal of all fifteen assessments from the 2017 and 2023 Rating Lists during the programme of works, resulting in savings to our client of approximately £24,000.
