Improving Lives Plymouth (formerly the Plymouth Guild of Voluntary Services) are a very long-standing client of Vickery Holman and we have worked together on a number of schemes of minor refurbishment.

With an expanding operation, ILP need to expand their office accommodation and other space provision whilst modernising the exterior of the building to enable it to fit more comfortably in its surroundings.

To this end, Vickery Holman have been involved in providing cost estimates for the purposes of applying for charitable and other funding to enable the construction of a new first storey extension over the existing ground floor which will provide more office space. The proposed work will also enable more modern, flexible and open-plan offices whilst modernising the front elevation.

To enable work to proceed when we get to that stage, Vickery Holman has been working with ILP to apply for Planning Permission and we have been liaising with other contractors, services providers, structural engineers and building contractors to provide the information required by funders.

Once funding is secured, Vickery Holman hope to be able to develop the proposals into a full specification for tendering, to manage the tender process and then to help appoint the successful contractor to complete the works. Vickery Holman will then administer the contract to completion and will provide Construction (Design Management) Regulations 2015 advice to the client.
