Building Surveying encompasses
such a broad range that Vickery Holman has identified
four principal areas for effective provision of the
service. These are Surveying, Minor Works, Litigation/Professional
and Major Works/New Build. The divisional system, whilst
maintaining cross-flow of information, enables our Building
Surveyors to provide specialist advice in core areas
and enhancing our ability to meet clients individual
requirements.
A full range of services are provided
locally with company wide specialist support given,
as required by individual instruction and circumstance.
The Building Surveyors provide a personal,
and flexible service of detailed and specialist advice.
The combined team strength can be utilised to target
large commissions, in a short period of time and in
an economic and consistent manner.
The ability to pool resources is a
feature regularly employed for undertaking property
portfolio surveys across the South West by clients such
as the Royal Mail; also by the Plymouth Diocese in inspecting,
maintaining and refurbishing Schools from Poole in Dorset
to Penzance, Cornwall. More specific and concentrated
instructions are undertaken such as inspections for
individual requirements.
The Building Surveying Team works
closely with the Agency and Commercial departments to
provide a comprehensive one-stop service.
Vickery Holman employ Surveyors with
specialist knowledge such as Mike Spencer (who has accreditation
in Building Conservation) providing advice on ecclesiastical
properties, as well as bespoke advice such as the recent
refurbishment of the Grade I and II Listed buildings
within the Plymouth Gin. Amongst other areas of specialism
is Vickery Holman’s provision of advice pertaining
to the Party Wall etc Act 1996 based around Dennis Venn
and Roger Squires’ extensive experience of the
Act within London. We have Surveyors with detailed knowledge
in a range of Building Surveying specialist disciplines.
