Born and bred in Exeter, Clare returned to the South West in 2006 with a Masters Degree in Real Estate Finance from Cambridge University and joined the Vickery Holman Graduate Training Programme in the Plymouth office. Clare comments “The training and support is great and a booming economy will produce great career prospects”.
On completing his BA in English, Jake decided it was actually Building for him, and is currently completing a Diploma in Building Surveying whilst gaining relevant experience at Vickery Holman. Jake comments “I was particularly impressed with the fact that amongst the current staff, Vickery Holman has two examiners of Professional Competence, a RICS appointed arbitrator and the Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Branch of the Pyramus and Thysbe Club”.
Joined Vickery Holman in 1997 as a graduate rising rapidly through the ranks to become a Director of Vickery Holman’s specialist property management company Envoy. Justin was also RICS matrics National Chairman in 2005/2006. Justin comments “Having grown up in Cornwall, I was always going to return after college but I have been delighted with the career opportunities that have been made available by Vickery Holman over the past 10 years”.
Joined the Vickery Holman Graduate Training Scheme in 2004. Having qualified in 2006 Laura is now being given an opportunity to expand Vickery Holman’s Landlord and Tenant workload in the Plymouth office. Laura comments “Having moved to Plymouth it is great to work in such a vibrant and developing city which offers plenty of opportunities to achieve the ideal work/life balance”.
Joined Vickery Holman in 2002 having given up a career as a secondary school music teacher. With his Diploma in Surveying, Simon joined the Vickery Holman Graduate Training Scheme, qualified in 2005 since when he has been given responsibility for co-ordinating the Building Surveyors within the Plymouth Office. Simon comments “Great support through the Graduate Scheme and now I am qualified, I have a very clear path for the future”.
Thirteen years working in a private practice in London was enough to convince this Londoner that Plymouth provided a far better environment for his family and as it turns out his career. Joining Vickery Holman in 1999, Dennis has taken charge of the Building Surveying side of the business, becoming a Director in 2003.
Over 30 years with the company, qualifying in 1981 rising through the ranks to Partner in 1986 and Director in 1996 and eventually Chairman of Vickery Holman Limited in 2005. Nick is widely regarded as one of the leading property experts on Valuation and Landlord and Tenant in the South West. Nick comments “Is it really 30 years?”
