Matthew is a senior surveyor and an integral member of the building surveying team in Plymouth.
Matthew initially followed a career in the timber industry after obtaining an honours degree in Forest Products Technology, prior to the desire to become a chartered surveyor.
After following an RICS accredited postgraduate diploma in Rural Property Management, Matthew qualified as a technical surveyor in residential survey and valuation and subsequently a chartered building surveyor and a chartered environmentalist. As a Plymothian, Matthew has significant knowledge of the south west region in general.
Matthew undertakes a wide range of instructions ranging from commercial and residential building and condition surveys, specific defect inspections, expert advice reports on timber biodeterioration, refurbishment and conversion projects, dilapidations, building repairs, Party Wall advice, CDM principal designer duties and reinstatement cost assessments.
Particular interests involve historic and listed buildings, non-traditional construction, sustainability and all matters relating to the use and specification of timber in buildings.
