Outside of work his former sport related interests have somewhat diminished (but not disappeared!) on back of new family responsibilities.

Justin joined Vickery Holman as a graduate in 1997 and following qualification specialised in valuation and estate management.

He was appointed a Director of Envoy Property Management (now part of Vickery Holman) in 2004 and now heads up the property management team across all offices in addition to managing a substantial number of properties throughout the South West.

In 2010 Justin was also appointed a Director of Vickery Holman and together with Alan Treloar and Robert Beale is responsible for the Truro office.

Justin has over the years devoted much time to The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and past appointments have included: International Governing Council, Appeals Panel, South West Regional Board. Justin is also a former National Chairman of RICS Matrics.

Any remaining free time is spent with his family and when possible travelling or skiing.

Alan graduated from college in Portsmouth in 1992 with a degree in Land Management and joined Vickery Holman in 1997, later becoming an Associate and then Director in 2010.

In his years with the company, Alan has been involved in most aspects of commercial property including agency and all property types from retail, office and industrial to hotels, pubs and other going concerns. He has also been involved in investment disposals and acquisitions for certain retained clients. He is now the Head of Agency.

Outside of the office Alan is a keen cyclist and family man.

Joining Vickery Holman in 2003 Robert achieved MRICS qualification at the end of the same year. Originally he carried out work across the board within the Valuation and Asset Management department including valuations for both secured lending and general purposes as well as a variety of Landlord and Tenant matters. Valuations make up the majority of his work day to day now having become one of the companies specialist valuers and more recently Head of Valuation Services.

When not at work life is focused on his young family as well as maintaining an unhealthy interest in the fortunes (or not) of both Somerset County Cricket Club and the England cricket team.

Nick has over 30 years' experience advising both public and private sector clients throughout the South West. Having opened the firm's new office in Truro in the 1980's he moved back to Plymouth where he co-founded Vickery Holman in 1990. Nick was appointed Chairman in 2005.

Nick advises on specialist valuations, expert witness, landlord and tenant and dispute resolution. In 2009 he was selected for membership of the Arbitration Panel operated by the the President of the RICS.

His specialist areas include leisure, healthcare, education and professional negligence.

Current outside interests include Governor of City College Plymouth, Chairman of Havencare (Plymouth) Ltd, Chairman of Plymouth Guild, Chairman of Routeways Centre Ltd, Director of Brook Housing Ltd and a non-Executive Director of Enterprise Plymouth Ltd.

Renowned for his exploits on the golf course Nick also finds time to watch rugby, travel, occasionally sail and enjoy his connections from his days in Round Table.

Robert retrained as a building surveyor in 2006 following a career in object conservation for Historic Royal Palaces, the De Young Museum, San Francisco and the National Trust.  Robert has worked in Cornwall since 2007.


His responsibilities at Vickery Holman include overseeing Construction Management across all offices and heading the Truro Office building surveying team. He has extensive experience across a wide variety of building surveying activities, including commercial and residential surveys, schedules of dilapidations/condition surveys, Party Wall appointments and defects analysis.   Robert has produced due diligence and project monitoring reports for both new builds and refurbishment projects to a wide variety of funders across the region. 


Robert acts as Project Manager and Contract Administrator for commercial and residential new build projects working with concept design, structural engineers and mechanical and electrical partners to provide a holistic project service.  His diversity of experience can be identified in projects such as 900m2 of B1 & B2 hybrid work space, SEN school extension and a cliff side private residence.


Clients range from private individuals requiring high standards and detail in delivery, to corporate clients such as Acorn Care & Education and Lands End Airport.
Robert has undertaken an MSc in Historic Building Conservation at the University of Bath.

Clare returned to the Southwest in 2006 having graduated with a Masters Degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Cambridge and later joined Vickery Holman's Plymouth Office as a Graduate Surveyor.

Upon joining the company Clare spent time working for the Valuation and Professional Services Team and the Commercial Agency Division undertaking a varied caseload. Her experience and proactive approach enabled her to achieve professional membership of the RICS.

Clare has since returned to her home town of Exeter to focus on Commercial Agency and now provides acquisition and disposal advice on Retail, office, Leisure and Industrial properties to a range of local, regional and national clients.

Outside of work Clare enjoys riding, water based sports and socialising.

Joanne relocated to Plymouth from Essex over 4 years ago following 7 successful years as a commercial agent for a local firm there.

Joanne now heads up the busy agency team in Plymouth advising clients on the disposal and acquisition of various different types of property including industrial, office and retail. Joanne also deals with residential and commercial development sites.

Her clients range from local business people to national clients, and everything in between.

Outside of work Joanne enjoys exploring the moors with her dog and looking after her ever growing collection of chickens.

Sam has been in the Exeter office since 2010, Sam has experience in Valuation, Landlord and Tenant, Agency and Rating work. She now specialises in Valuation, covering the South West for a broad range of property types and purposes.

Outside of work Sam’s interests include running competitively and swimming. She is also an enthusiastic charity fundraiser and has recently been involved in the Daredevil Challenge, the Dartmoor Jailbreak, and the Michelmores 5km charity run.

Nicola graduated from The University of Portsmouth in 1998 with a degree in Land Management and has worked in both the private and public sector in Truro since 1998, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 2000, she is an RICS Registered Valuer and a member of the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation.

Her experience covers most aspects of commercial property practice but since joining Vickery Holman in 2004 she has concentrated on Landlord and Tenant matters and business rates appeals.  Since 2015 Nicola has focussed her time on leading the rating team across the company.  Her particular interests are the leisure sector dealing with hotels, holiday parks and self-catering holiday lets.

Nicola is on the RICS panel of APC Doctors helping trainee surveyors and has been a licensed RICS Assessor since 2007. 

Nicola enjoys riding and swimming.

Alex joined Vickery Holman in 2007 as a Building Surveyor; prior to working at Vickery Holman he acquired a number of years’ experience in building construction, working on a range of different projects from the construction of a fully sustainable house to carrying out general maintenance and repair works.

During his time at Vickery Holman Alex has gained a vast variety of experiences in all aspects of the building surveying profession including party wall, dilapidations, design, planning and building regulation advice and sustainability. Alex specialises in building surveys, contract administration and project management, with projects ranging from small residential and commercial refurbishments to large residential new build developments.

Alex now runs a successful team of Building Surveyors in Vickery Holman’s Exeter office. With a range of commercial and private clients including Lenard Cheshire Disability, Abbeyfield, Stockland Primary Academy, Hillfield Village and a number of other private clients.

A former secondary school teacher, Simon is a Chartered Surveyor who joined Vickery Holman in 2002. He now coordinates the Building Surveying team in the Plymouth Office and is the primary contact in the firm for school and educational work.

Other areas of professional interest include planning and building regulations advice, asbestos management, dilapidations and all types of building projects from small refurbishments to new build.

Simon has been instrumental in developing the major projects side of business in the Plymouth Office, working closely with clients in the Health Care, Education and private sectors, providing strategic advice and guidance on space utilisation and building portfolio management.

Sophie has undertaken valuations for both public and private sector clients as well as other lending institutions. In addition to valuation work, Sophie has experience in Landlord and Tenant roles including lease regears, surrenders, lease renewals and rent reviews for both landlord and tenant and public and private sector clients.

For the first 11 years of her property career Jane worked for Cluttons in London, initially as a Research Analyst, including a six month secondment to Investment Property Databank (IPD), and then moved into Asset Management where she looked after high profile central London estate clients and charities. Jane qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2007.


Originally from Devon, Jane returned in 2010 and joined Vickery Holman.  She works in the Valuation team undertaking valuations for a variety of property types and purposes,  and is based in the Plymouth office.


Outside of work Jane is the PTA treasurer for Bovey Tracey Primary School.

Kate has been with the company since 2004 and is the Business Manager for the company. As part of the Business Management function for the business, Kate is responsible for identifying and delivering strategy for marketing, service delivery, IT and facilities management.

During her time with the company she has undertaken training to support her work based development and obtained a CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice, FdA in Human Resource Management and a BA (Hons) in Applied Professional Studies.

Outside of work she raises money for worthy charities and has taken part in many fund raising events including the 3 Peaks Challenge, an abseil from the 13th floor of a well known Plymouth building and more recently taken part in a property Triathlon.

Edward has worked for Vickery Holman since 2012.  Before this, he attended Plymouth University to earn his undergraduate degree in Architecture, Design and Structures before furthering his studies at the University of the West of England to obtain his Post Graduate Diploma in Building Surveying.  He has subsequently qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and works in the building surveying department of Vickery Holman.


Having spent a number of years focusing on project and refurbishment work in local schools and academies, Ed has developed his project management skills to include small extensions and bespoke new buildings.  As a result, he now has a wealth of experience in the education sector and with the funding bid processes schools and academies must work within.


Ed is also concentrating on building surveys and asset management plans (AMPs) in the Plymouth office, providing a range of services including building defect analysis, schedules of condition, pre-acquisition surveys and planned maintenance reports.  He is fully conversant with the changes to EPC legislation taking place in 2018 and is also working as a Party Wall Etc Act surveyor, in which guise he is a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club.


Outside of work, Ed is a keen sportsman and has undertaken a range of challenges with the company.  During the summer you are most likely to find him on the golf course!

Shortly afterwards, Chantal was given the opportunity to continue her studies while working at BNPPRE and completed her Masters in Real Estate in 2009.


Chantal moved to Exeter in 2011 and worked for LSL Corporate Client Department in their Corporate Property Management Department doing residential and commercial property management before joining Vickery Holman in 2015 to work in their Valuation and Agency Departments.


Outside of work Chantal is a keen cyclist and also enjoys hiking and exploring new countryside with her dog. She also enjoys skiing and horse riding.

Will graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a First-Class Honours degree in Real Estate Management in 2012 and qualified as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2014.  He started his career in Central London specialising in Investment & Development Agency and Commercial Leasing. Whilst in London Will advised a wide range of clients including institutional funds, global media and finance companies, private investors and developers.

Will Joined Vickery Holman in 2017 as a Senior Surveyor in the Truro agency team. He deals with the disposal and acquisition of a range of commercial property including office, industrial, retail, investments and development sites. Having grown up in the South West, Will is keen to use his knowledge and expertise in a familiar location.  

Outside of work Will is a keen sportsman with a passion for surfing, triathlon, long distance running, skiing, rugby and kick boxing. His sporting highlight was completing the Weymouth Ironman Triathlon in 2015 which involved a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26 mile run.

Prior to this, Sam had worked in Birmingham for over 10 years in the private sector commercial property market, covering most aspects including Property Management, Landlord & Tenant matters, Investment Acquisitions and Disposals, Agency and Valuations. 

He now specialises in Property Management, Landlord and Tenant matters as well as Business Rates Mitigation for commercial clients.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his family, is a keen cook and also loves being outside be it walking, cycling or gardening.

Having joined Vickery Holman's agency team in 2012, Jenny is a Commercial Agent in our Cornwall based team.  Jenny handles a wide variety of instructions across sectors including development, offices, retail and industrial, with clients ranging from local landlords to national businesses.

Drawing upon her experience previously gained within the retail sector, Jenny has undertaken work based learning to develop her skills in the industry.

In her own time Jenny is a keen landscape photographer and enjoys travelling around the South West and Scotland. She also enjoys hill walking, wild camping and baking.

Formerly an estate agent from 1988 to 2001, Richard enrolled as a mature student at Plymouth University and completed his degree in Building Surveying and the Environment. Richard then joined Vickery Holman in 2004 and qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 2007.

His areas of experience include commercial and residential maintenance and refurbishment projects and the undertaking of feasibility studies for a variety of clients. Richard is an experienced Contract Administrator and has worked on projects of varied size, including educational work and residential conversions.

In conjunction with Simon Wheeler, Richard heads up the major projects team in Plymouth.

Richard is a qualified and practicing BREEAM (Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method) assessor. In addition Vickery Holman can provide diverse ecological and environmental advice in connection with tithe use, construction, maintenance and occupation of buildings and estates.

Caroline joined Vickery Holman in 2000 as a Junior Secretary in the Plymouth office.

After gaining an NVQ II in Business Administration, Caroline was soon providing full secretarial and administrative support for the Commercial Agency Department.

Utilising her knowledge and experience gained whilst being at VH, Caroline’s career path has developed and in her current role she provides assistance to the Property Managers on a wide range of commercial and residential properties.

Outside of work, Caroline focuses her attention on her young family and spending time with friends.

Since joining the team in October 2014 as a Property Manager, Joanna is responsible for managing part of Vickery Holman's vast commercial and residential portfolio.

Outside of work, Joanna loves to spend time with her family enjoying the many and varied opportunities the south west has to offer, especially in the summer where the local beaches are a regular attraction. In addition, she loves to keep fit by attending ‘Body Jam’ sessions, balanced with the more sedate options of listening to music and reading a good book.

Anna has recently achieved her NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, and is currently working towards her Associate RICS Qualification.

Mike is a chartered surveyor with over 30 years post qualification experience in Building Surveying in the south west.

He has wide-ranging experience in property maintenance, conversion and improvement projects, including conservation and historic buildings. He is well versed in the CDM regulations and acts as Principle Designer on may occasions.

Regularly conducting building and site surveys Mike is an authority on defect analysis and remedy. He will prepare Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations and advise thereon, act as independent expert in respect of building and boundary disputes and offer advice in respect of listed buildings.

Neil started his career in property in 1999 where he worked first in Truro then Falmouth for a firm of residential agents.

Seeking more of a challenge and a varied workload he joined a Truro-based firm of commercial surveyors in 2003 where he worked as a commercial agent covering all of Cornwall.

With 8 years property experience behind him in 2007 Neil joined Vickery Holman where he has assisted in strengthening the Truro agency team's position within the local marketplace. He currently advises a wide range of clients in all aspects of commercial lettings, sales and acquisitions across all sectors of the market.

Outside of work, Neil enjoys cycling, running, climbing and hill walking and he was part of Vickery Holman's Three Peaks team.

Based in Truro Kirsty is working in the Building Surveying team.  She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Cardiff University in 2009 and joined Vickery Holman in 2014 as a Project Assistant.  Prior to this, she managed the Truro office of an environmental services company and spent 4 years in Falmouth managing a Royal Fleet Auxiliary support contract.

Currently studying for her Masters Degree in Building Surveying, Kirsty is working towards becoming an RICS Chartered Surveyor.

Kirsty is qualified as an AutoDesk AutoCAD Certified User and has put her skills to work on drawings for Grade II listed buildings, private residential works and lease plans.

Being a keen runner, Kirsty enjoys the gym, if only to offset her love of fine ales.
